Hi Mark

As has previously been said on the list many times, any call you make
on skype from your computer to someone else's computer is absolutely,
positively free. But when you try to call someone else's phone is
when you get charged. In fact, Skype requires you to buy credit so
you can use their paid services.
So let's say that you make a call to someone's mobile or a regular
land line, and you have no skype credit. Skype will prompt you to
buy skype credit, and if you don't, you can't make the call.
As for Skype pro, I don't think that's available in the U.s. just yet
so I can't speak to the features of that particular version. But
again, if you have skype installed on your machine, and you contact
someone else who is also using skype, it is free.
I hope this helps.
