Sorry, I should have pointed out that the WMA files are DRM (copy protected) files which Total Recorder won't open for obvious reasons. Before anyone should comment regarding the illegality of this practice, may I say that the illegality would be in distributing the re-recorded file. As long as I listen to, then destroy the file, I am observing the intent of copy protection. I value greatly the services of RFB&D and NLS, here in the U.S., and the rights of authors to have their works protected, not to take copy protection seriously.
