Hello everyone, I think I know what's cossing that problem. Air can get in to tite places. air always lieves dust and when it gets on magneted tape, it makes that squilling sound when you try to play it. Removing dust from one of these is a time consuming process. This may sound crazy, but it works. In the open end of the casset, run some water over the tape, but let it set and dry for up to 5 days. Rewind and fastforword just to make sure the tape moves threw the machine without any problem. After that, then try and play the tape. If it runs smoothley and you don't hear the squilling sound any mor, then you have done this successfully.
