Gold wave can make regions out of files with quiet areas, and so if you record off cassettes and the side(s) end, Gold Wave can search for the areas and put markers/q points between labeling them by time. Sf does not do this, though it will auto-region using much smaller criteria like drum beats and/or speech phrases.
