I can sympathise with your problem. The problem with ear mounted mics is that any movement of the head is bound to cause a shift in the stereo field. Having said that, you won't get a good recording with them placed under a seat. Why not just use a good stereo mic? Alternatively, you could build a head baffle. I made one several years ago which worked extremely well, here's how: 1.Find an old 78rpm vinyl. 2.Cut two circles of velvet curtain into circles the same size as the record. 3.Glue the curtain material to the vinyl, one circle on each side fluffy side out. 4.Get a piece of quarter inch dowel about a foot long. 5.Use a drill to increase the size of the hole in the centre of the vinyl. 6.Push the dowel through the hole, so that there is about sizx inches each side. 7.Use bluetack to attach the mics to the ends of the dowel. 8.Cut a slot into a small block of wood, and insert the vinyl. This acts as a stand. This may seem a bit complicated, and if you were in england, I'd make one for you. It works very well. Dave.
