If the file starts with only 16-bit, how can you increase to 24-bit? I'm
afraid I, also, dropped in rather late.
Thanks.

  David,
Mad is an mp3 decoder plugin that lets you play mp3 files and audio
streams with 24 to 32 bit resolution if your sound card will support
it. I've been using it for about three months and like what it does.
It really gives my mp3 files a much fuller and richer sound. It can
be a bit tricky to setup, but if your experience is anything like
mine, it will be worth the trouble.

One thing I'm noticing at the moment while listening to a stream, is
that the title bar is not being updated. I'm not sure if this
behavior is particularly consistent, or if the stream service is on
the fritz. But now I've switched to another stream called 181.fm -
The Arrow (Pure Classic Rock)", and the titles are changing as they should.

As you may be able to tell, I don't normally listen to many audio
streams, but judging by some of the content I've found again on
Shoutcast, I might better start taking advantage of it again <g>.

If you want to know more, download the file from Sendspace, if it is
still there, and take a look at the text file included in the
archive, then let me know if you need any help setting it up.

  Happy listening,

  Larry
