Ok, well in a further reply to this, my new Mocro system for example has what Panasonic terms as a "music port" on the front of it which is designed to connect to an Ipod or similar such device through a headphone socket so the impedence for this particular facility may not be the same as a line-out, that's something that listers may wish to chick but I'm now running for my Ipod shuffle manual because I'm sure it references line-out or connecting the shuffle to a Hi-Fi system.
