Hi Judy, I have an R09. I am quite sure that the settings are retained if you remove the batteries. I have had my batteries out now for a few days. I'll put them back in and when my wife gets home later this morning, I'll have her check the settings and I'll let you know. That is if you don't have an answer by that time.
