Hi Pam, ask someone for sure that owns the r-09 for sure, but from what I recall, when you are in the opening screen menu, the last file you recorded is highlighted at the bottom of the list. files are sequentially numbered, so to move to a previously recorded file, you up arrow to it. once you know for certain which file is highlighted hit the record button to select it. hit the up arrow for play to make sure it is the file you want to delete. hit the down arrow to stop the file from playing. hit the menu finder quickly, wait a couple of seconds, arrow down three times and hit the record button. the file should be gone. someone correct me if I am wrong.
