Good day Kevin; As per a so called kick butt 2.1 computer speaker system, I recently purchased and installed a Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 and the sound and/or performance are truly astounding! Since I reside in the great white North, Canada, and Klipsch does not sell their computer speakers here for what ever reason, I purchased mine via E-bay. After searching various outlets in the United States that sell Klipsch computer speakers, amongst them Best Buy and Amazon, I found the price for a new set of these speakers to range from $99 (Best Buy - on sale at the time) upwards to $200 (this search having been done 2 to 3 months back). As for the sound and performance, whilst Klipsch home stereo speakers are typically known for their great bass, I was expecting their computer speakers to perform accordingly. And while these speakers do indeed have superb bass response, the midrange and treble are just as astounding! The set is a 3 component system, 2 plastic satellites and 1 wood sub-woofer, with the sub being a bit bulky (approximate size of 15 inches by 15 inches by 12 inches) and weighing +/- 20 pounds. Their is both a volume and pitch level control on one of the satellite speakers that are both easily accessible and quite responsive. I have a multi-thousand dollar home stereo system and these speakers have me tossing a coin to decide which speakers I would like to have playing any audio emanating from my computer (sly wink).
