Hello,

I am getting in on this thread rather late, as I have been out of
town.

Perhaps there is more than one model of Real Tech card. At any
rate, I have the Real Tech AC97 and just love it. I have it on a
three and a half year old Medion desktop Computer and also on an
Acer desktop which I just purchased. It works very well on each
machine, and I have noted no accessibility problems. One machine
runs XP home, and the other has XP media center.

I am familiar with this chip. It is an onboard chip in many of
the new
boards and is quite popular now. The only problem with it is
that it is not
very accessible when it comes to working with recording with
different kinds
of devices. I have the same chip on my board. I elected to go
with a
turtle beach riviera sound card, and then finally to a sound
blaster live 24
bit card. I am by far happiest with the soundblaster. I would
recommend
that you consider doing the same when you can and if you wish.
Otherwise, I
will try to help you figure out your sound as best I can. If you
wish, send
your contact info to me off list and I will try to help you
troubleshoot.
My e-mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks and good luck.
