That's an age-old question for just about any trialware that ever
existed. The way it "knows" about your trial status is by leaving
something behind that it can check on. That could be a cookie, as in a
browser cookie, it could be a record or key in your system's registry,
it could be a hidden file buried somewhere, it could even be a simple
DLL left over in the Windows system directory. Trouble is, unless
you're the program author and know the secret, you may spend the rest
of your life trying to find it and probably never will.

First thing to do is remove the program completely from your computer.

Next thing to do is run a registry clean program such as Microsoft's
regclean. This will remove any keys and junk records from your
registry which may (or not) be related to the program you wish to
re-try. After a good regclean, reboot your system.

Next, try installing the program again. If it still says you've tried
it before, then there's a detection scheme going on that, as I said
before, you may never find and may never be able to defeat. I've even
seen one or two that use your IP address, so if you try and install it
again for another go-round, it knows you tried it once before from
this address and won't let you do so again.

Good luck, although I don't really expect you'll have any, sorry to
have to say.
