then she is correct the option is different for different soundcards.  open
your volume control.
start menu
programs
accessories
entertainment
volume control
once you've gotten here press alt+p to open properties
tab then change option to record and press enter
it may say stereo mixer or what you here
this option allows you to record anything that comes through the soundcard.
