I was listening to a religious program that was on terrestrial radio and 
they said that their cost for being on the bird was 1000 dollars an hour. I 
am not doubting them in the least, as I have worked in the industry and know 
about some of the operating costs that are involved in such an operation.
In the case that I am familiar with we had to rent broadcast lines by the 
minute and paid dearly for them, as they had to be of a higher quality as 
apposed to convential telephone lines.
Don't forget that XM and sirious do not own the bird. They pay for the time 
that they are using. Both services have several million custermers, yet they 
still can't make a profit. I think that they were counting on everyone 
moving over to a paid service, unfortunately that did not happen.
The satelite service is very popular. It is not simply going to disappear 
overnight. If it goes broke someone else will take it over.
