Ok Doky I've now taken a look at both of these programs. DSpeech is another
editor that does not install and it will call any of the voices on your
system unlike Biblos which just calls the eloquent voices if I remember. So
basically you just load whatever document you want with this and then you
tab to the play button and such. On the screen there are 3 custom controls.
The first one is volume the second one is rate and the third one is pitch.
These custom controls do not speak with Win-Eyes and when I attempted to
reclass the controls I crashed the program and it generated an error
report. You can, however, use the up and down arrows in the custom controls
to make adjustments while it's talking. There are pulldown menus as well
and Some of the options I'm not familar with but I was able to get it to
convert to an mp3 using Neospeech Kate which I personally just love and it
worked just fine. This talking editor might be perfect on a flash drive
since it does not install and as I work on lots of computers I never know
if I have a need for something like this. The only down side to this editor
is that unfortunately it only does txt stuff but for a free editor I'll
give it 4 out of 5 stars. I do like it. Teen Spirit is a simple mp3 player.
Basically you load a folder of songs and tell it to play but I found that I
had to type alt-a in the listbox. Also to get the listbox to have focus I
had to use Win-eyes mouse movement keys but you tab between options or you
can right click for more options. This player seems to be designed for
primarily cd's. There is no shuffle or skip forward or anything like that.
It does have enqueue on it and you can certainly load individual songs with
it. I loaded America - Complete Greatest Hits but it couldn't seem to
retrieve any info from the data base it uses. It doesn't seem to be using
CDDB so perhaps it's one in another country. The only way I could stop the
songs from playing was to close it out so as I say I think it's just for
listening. Winamp it's Not but hey for free I'll take it and I'll rate it 3
out of 5 stars.
