hi list, just a comment here. I have a samsung Yp-U1X 512 mp3 player. It always resumes from where you left off in the song, it's extremely small, has a really good volume and all that. I'm not sure if it plays DRM or not, but i know it does play WMA, MP3, ASF and OGG. It doesn't require any cables or anything, the USB connector flips out and in, requires no software (it simply pops up as a removable disk) and transfers, if your system is enabled, at USB 2.0 speeds. Best of all, it was $119.99 Canadian when i got it a few months ago, it's probably gone down somewhat. I'd suggest checking it out for books, say, converted using text sound or whatever tts converter you use. brandon

First, Jean, I've not found it difficult to play even several books in the Ilo 1 gig. When you turn the Ilo on, the first thing that comes up for me are my files, and when I press play, the first file starts playing. I have several books and songs in there, and I can easily go from track to track. Unfortunately, if you've had the Ilo off for awhile, it's been my experience that it does take you back to the beginning of the tracks, whether they be books, songs, whatever, and that can be a pain if you're listening to a long book. I think you have to buy higher-end devices to be able to get that wonderful feature, like the Bookport has, of stopping your book where you left it. I'm sending along a couple of things that might be helpful to you all, and I'll be glad to help if I can also. Below is the information from Overdrive, a service similar to Net Library. I'm just gpoing to paste in their Accessibility Guide. You can also go to blindcooltech.com and get a couple of little tutorials on how to sync your device with Windows Media Player and how to download books from Net Library, both done by our good pal Larry Skutchan. When you go to blindcooltech.com, look for the links, How to Put Protected WMA Content onto Your MP3 Player and Net Library.
