In the beginning, that may be how it started out, and it was maybe marketed toward the spoken word, but it works quite well for music and other audio projects as well. I've got both it and Sound Forge, and I can honestly say that I use it more than I do Sound Forge. Plus some of it's spoken word features work great when it comes to breaking up large files with multiple songs into individual files.
