Well, I've long thought the winamp library was rather useless, aside from for searching for streams in particular genres. I only ever used it for managing and editing bookmarks, and, since I learned how to edit winamp.bm directly, I don't even need it for that, any longer.
but, I thought, your original question was how to set up a random shuffle from among all of your music, without having to create specific playlists. The way I described is the only way I know to do that. You're right; it doesn't allow you to exclude recently played items from the shuffle. but I don't know of any way to do that, at all.
