Oh and here's another option, I forgot about this one, although it's a tricky one. If the tone in your audio is exactly 6 KHZ, and you know what level it falls under and if it stays constant, you can generate a 6 KHZ tone of the same length, invert the phase, and apply it on top of the existing signal at the same level.
