Yes I've spoken with technical assistance at one of my distributors, Edirol, Sandisk and Kingston. I've called on a few occasions in an effort to get several opinions and try to average them out to some sort of understanding. Sometimes I was told that it doesn't matter what the host device is or what the compact flash card is, the battery life of the host will be the same. I've also been told that depending on the host, the brand and style of the compact flash card the battery life of the host will vary. Every time I called I got no definitive answer.
