But you'd still get the hissing from the mixer itself, regardless of whether that channel is on or not. It still usually makes some kind of noise. I'm a perfectionist, and do archive work sometimes for personal use usually, and so this is what I use to get the best sound, by muting the unused channel. Thanks a lot. Matthew
