Hi This may be overkill perhaps, but I recently purchased the Iriver h320 mp3 player/recorder. The recorded sound quality is excellent and you have more than enough space with 20 gb to work with. The player is also very easy to use for a blind person. The only thing you may need some sighted assistance is with setting parameters in the menus, but even that may not be too difficult with some practice.
