Hi Ken, I guess it depends on whether your dvd player will play mp3 files. The dvd burner that I have doesn't convert stuff. You can record, or should I sa>, burn 4.5 gigabytes of data to a dvd minus or dvd plus r disc. On the computer, you can use winamp to play mp3's from this medium just as you would be able to from a hard drive or a zip drive. I bet some of the modern dvd players can play such discs, though others here can probably speak to this issue with more authority than can I. My dvd player in my home theater system cannot even play burned cd's, though it plays store bought cd's just fine. It is a sony bought in 2000. In those days, walkman style cd players weren't commonly found that could play mp3 cd's, though now that is common.
