Joanne, As i understand it, the software option applies regardless of whether the audio content is streaming online or has been already downloaded to play through your default player. The sound board option without the TR driver is for recording from an external source such as a stereo. If this is what you want to do others can advise you of optimal settings, but assuming you have already learned to record online streams, you should be able to record from a bookmarked stream in Winamp or whatever without any additional tweaking. hth.
