Hi Gary.

You'll need windows media player 10. Go to Toolds menu, Options and press
enter. Locate the ripping tab. Here you'll find a combo box of formats.
Select the lossless WMA files format and each rip that you do with media
player will now be lossless WMA.

Now, if you want to edit or set volume, you could use Goldwave as I do. The
current version of Goldwave doesn't seem to support the version 10 files but
it does support 9.1 lossless WMA files so be sure to save with that format
as VBR 100 16 bit stereo.

With regards to size, a WMA at 128kbps will typically take up 5MB for a 5
minute track. A lossless WMA file of the same length will take
approximately 30MB so you've got to be serious about the sound quality to
justify the overhead in file size.

Regards.

Kevin

explanation of how to make these lossless files? Also, what's the size
relative to a 128 mp3 file, any ideas?
