Hi chris I use two sound cards to record skype. One takes both skype input and output. the output from that sound card is fed to my mixer and I have a second microphone on the same stand, the one I use for broadcasting, which goes into another channel on the mixer to record my side. This gives the added advantage that I have have both myself and the other person in different parts of the stereo image if I want to. I'm able to record straight to Sound Forge with no problems. the only drawback is that skype uses the same input channel on the mixer, as does my music when broadcasting via Winamp from the first sound card, so if I take a skype call on air I have to wait until the end of a track before I can answer it and bring the person on air, but it works.
