HI THERE ARE 1000 MEGS TO A GIG. YOU CAN GET ABOUT 20000 SONGS DEPENDING ON WHAT BITRATE YOU USE. 192 WORKS BEST BUT 128 WILL BE FINE. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Portillo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Hi guys, I am in the process of digitizing my music collection. I have an 80 gig external hard drive, which I bought solely for this purpose. Here are my questions. How many megs are in a gig, and with 80 gigs, how many CDs can I put on the hard drive. How many megs would a CD take up? Also, what are smaller or better, wma files or mp3 files?
