I have Total Recorder Pro with both the AGC and Audio Restoration plug ins. I am very pleased with them. But, I am finding it difficult to customize some of the behavior, especially in the AGC plug in because I do not understand what the settings are supposed to do. From the help, it seems like being able to see the graph would help a lot.
At the moment, I have a difficult nut to crack; I have an audio program (talk radio) that has a high-frequency range of hiss that sounds similar to tape hiss except that it is only present while the narrator is talking. The pauses are completely silent. Due to this varying nature of the hiss, the hiss removal and noise reduction features of the audio restoration plug-in are not helpful. I was trying to come up with a filter using AGC, but I do not know what I am doing or if it is even possible. Are there any other TR Pro users out there that may have some pointers? I wonder if there is a better, easier to use tool for this particular task?
