Thanks to everyone who's responding to this question of mine. Please understand that I didn't think I needed to buy a type of CD that was advertised as being for music specifically. I had done some basic homework in order to understand disc capacity and write speed, and really just wanted to hear people's brand preferences, if any. Not surprised that a number of brands, some of them long familiar as makers of audiotape (such as Maxell, TDK, etc.) as well as some products whose names I'd never heard (Ination, for example) were all good. I just didn't know if there were some really inferior things out there, as once was the case with blank audiocassette tape.
Again, thanks to all, and waiting to hear what RIA means and what it has to do with stand-alone CD recording devices.
