Hi Rob

You have what you meed for fading down and up the music. Sound Forge
has a feature called Mixing. You have some presets you can use with the
Max command. You use the keystroke ctrl+m to activate this dialog.
When using this command, it is important to have the voice clip you want
to use on your clipboard. If not, this feature will not work.

Under the process menu of Sound Forge, you have several choices. One
you will need is the Fade command from this menu. You can fade a track
in or out. When fading, select to the end of the file from the point
where you want the fade to take place. The standard Windows keystrokes
apply here. Use shift+end to select to the end of the file, then press
alt+p, f, o for fading out the music.

That should get you started.

    Hi everyone,

Well, my goal is to create a podcast. Forget the rss, forget
uploading files, i need help with the most basic of basics.
What I want to do is start with music, podsafe music of course.
I want to fade it down, talk a little bit, fade it back up, or perhaps
fade it out entirely. What software do I need? Can someone give me a
senario so that I can accomplish this small yet important task?
By the bye I do have Window-eyes and Sound Forge 6.0. If Sound
Forge won't work I'm willing to go anywhere, download anything so that I
can get this project started.
Thanks for your help in advance. I know that a lot of you on
the list have recorded stuff for ACB Radio so this may seem like a real
dumb question, but I can't figure it out. Help.

              Rob
