I use a Y-adaptor to accomplish this. You plug the Y-adaptor into the speaker out ont eh sound card, plug the speakers into one branc and the headphones, in my case cordless headphones, into the other.

What it is I want to do is to plug in my headset for Skype and still leave my
speakers plugged in so that when I was voice chatting I could listen through my
phones while turning down my soundcard speakers.
What I want to know is does a SB Live card have a separate output socket for
headphones from the speaker output?
Cheers
Andrea
