hi Donald I to am confused by them signs.
what I do, is manual split using b to mark the beginning of the cut, and n to
mark the end.
you then can review the beginning and end with f6 and f8 accordingly. to fine
tune your markers, use the numbers across the top row of the keyboard 1 to move
back the first marker, 2 to move it forward and 3 for the end marker back and 4
to move it forward, always reviewing with f6 or f7 depending on what marker you
are adjusting.
then I go to save selection and give it a name and bob's your uncle.

Subject: file splitting with mp3 direct cut.

  Hello,

I posted the below message a couple of days ago and got no response, so am
trying again in hopes
that users of mp3 direct cut who know the answer will respond.

  The message is as follows:

Hello, I am using mp3 direct cut and attempting to split a one hour mono file
into 4 segments of
15 minutes each. I used the auto cue choice to mark the file. But when I go
to the file menu
and select save-split, I am puzzled by those cryptic instructions. I
understand selecting the
folder into which the segments are to be saved, and I also think I understand
use of the base
file name. However, reference is made to various characters of the alphabet
preceeded by a per
cent sign, and I do not understand the significance of these.

Also, please explain how to save all segments because whenever I attempt to
save the parts, only
one brief segment is saved. So what am I doing wrong? Thanks.
  Don Roberts
