You can do what you want to do, but you need to know that if you're going to listen to these files on a regular sony cd player, you're not going to want to use wave files. The cd player doesn't understand a wav file. It's just gonna go hey, I can't read this, so I'm not even going to try. So what you want to do is get a program like Nero Burning Rom. You then find all the mp3 files you want to put on your cd and then, copy them to your windows clipboard. To keep things simple, put all your files you want to burn into the same folder soyou can press control plus a to select them all and press control plus c to copy them to your windows clipboard which is kind of a holding place for data that you're going to move. Ok,now that you've got your files copied, open Nero burning rom and first, tell it that you want to make a data cd, it'll probably refer to it as an ISO, but that's data. so choose that and then press ok, or in the case of Nero 6, press the new button and a window will open. then, paste all your files with control plus v. then put your blank cd, this would be a CDR disc in the drive and if you're using Nero 6 as I am, you would press alt plus r for the recorder menu and then arrow down to burn compilation and press enter. you'll then get another screen that confirms your choices which is what you want, so press your space bar when you hear burn button and then your cd will start to burn. you can check the status of your burn with your title bar. in JAWS this is insert plus t.
