From what I've been hearing lately about podcasting, it sounds like it could
be a good way to record live streams; that is, if the said station does any podcasting.

/There is a program called Station Ripper that cancopy shoutcast streams and
some podcasts. There is an IE browser that is accessible to choose your
stations but other things are not that accessible. There is a button
somewhere so you can listen as you record. You cannot schedule a recording,
at least I haven't found a way to. One thing I like is that if it is an
internet only station it will save the songs as their own files with the
files given the titles, etc. of the songs. If it is a real radio station,
then you will get an incomplete file as they call it. You can still listen
to it, etc. It will just have the name of the station as the file name. It
does not pick up your screen reader or any windows sounds but only records
what comes through. If you are on a dial up connection and try to record
something that has a faster stream, there wil probably be jumps, etc. where
the time has elapsed but has not been copied. check it out at:

Listers,
I have three players: winamp, windows media player, and real player. I
would
like to know can live stream be recorded to the hard drive and if so, how?
I listen to so much live streaming and I really would like to hear it
again,
but I don't know how to use these players to record.
Thanks to everyone,
Carliss
