Subject: Downloading NLS Books

Hi All,

Well, I found the books I wanted from the NLS WebBraille catalog and
downloaded several of them.

However, when I try to read them with my screenreader and braille
display I
get garbage. There will be a few recognizable words with lots of
various
symbols and number around them. You can't make any sense out of it
and
there's no way I could try to read a book this way.

I had this problem at first when I just tried to open them from the
NLS
website. So after reading the question and answer section I
discovered how
to set up a brf file and I elected to use wordpad. So now when I
download
they go to my documents file but when wordpad tries to open them they
are a
mess.

What have I done wrong. Are there other changes I need to make for
these
files to display in readable form?

Thanks so much.

Kris H.
