Hi listers,

I haven't done a great deal of this, so please bear with me. I am trying to record from my old Kinwood stereo receiver with Total Recorder, which doesn't even inter into the picture at this point.

To begin with, I haven't really tried recording with TR using my stereo up to now, because of a sound problem when I have the patch cord connect to my sbAudigy card from the line out on the stereo to the line in jack on the sound card. When I have the two connected, the sound goes down in volume, and also sounds as if there is a impedance mismatch or something of that nature. I really don't think this is the case because I don't have this problem when listening to audio coming through my computer, including Eloquence, as well as Winamp, into the stereo. Of course, I hear a low volume of audio coming from the stereo output when switching from source to monitor on the stereo, I mean all through the entire set of positions.

If this isn't making a great deal of since, you know just how little experience I've had recording from this receiver.

I am able to record just fine from a boom box with no real problem, but would like to be able to record things from XM through my stereo without having to go through an FM receiver. I do listen to my XM Radio through the Roady 2 which is running through my receiver.

Any ideas?

thanks very much in advance,

Larry
