The term is wrong, cross-fading is when you want to fade from one track into anohter (nearly the same as mixing) whereas if you want gapless playing (without gaps between tracks) you can ajust the currently installed plug-ins to fix this problem, also ajust the output setting so that Winamp is playing to your sound device directly rather than through the Microsoft sound mapper.
