Hello,

I have an accessible Minidisc recorder--it may very well be the MZ-B100. It's
an MZ-B something. <grin> Anyway, I use it when I need stereo recordings. But
my
digital recorder does use solid-state. It is not expandable, and it can't
record in stereo. But it's great for when I have things read for me. Transfers
are much
faster
than real-time. It currently can transfer the files as .wavs. I then use CDex
to convert them to mp3 if I need to do that. I saw this recorder (Sony ICD-P28)
on
amazon for US $88 or something clost to that.

It also has a build-in speaker.

Still, the MZ-B100 has more features, including stereo recording, and I think
you will enjoy it. I just wanted to point out that there are affordable
recorders
that will
let someone transfer files to the computer faster than real time.

Angie
