Hey, Does this thing for Linux that you use allow you to transfer data
recorded from aHiMD Disk? One of the HiMD machiens is the MZNHF800.
Thanks,
Nick

OF THE "SMALLEST" IN THE MARKET

You're quite right! the point I'm making is that you shouldn't need to
convert from MP3 to ATRAC, the player should handle MP3 instantly and
without problme, the only thing you can do with MP3 files on this unit is
to store them on the in-built hard drive, you can't play them unless you
convert to ATRAC first therefore, you do lose quality when converting from
one format to the other. As I said previously, this is just such a waste
of time compared to other devices such as IPOD and IRIVER which just let
you transfer MP3 files etc ready to be played at the press of a button.

Now another point that springs to mind. I have a Sony Minidisc machine
here which came with the Sonic Stich software. I found this to be rather
inaccessible as it used BMP graphic images to display menus etc so I'm
wondering just how bad the Sonic Stich software supplied with the player
under discussion is. I'm lucky! I use LINUX to do all the tasks I want
from my Minidisc player and (I suspect) that much the same sort of LINUX
software is available for this player too! but if you're using Windows XP
etc then I suggest you don't have much hope in doing the MP3/ATRAC
conversion the player requires anyhow, anyone else got thoughts on this?
