Believe it or not, there are other players.  I do not know the URL for this 
one, but you can get GS player, which automatically bookmarks if you will 
the spot where you stop the audio file.  It also plays and streams Ogg 
Vorbis, and does in fact stream mp3...Yes, it can be done on a Pac Mate.

I realize no one on this list may know the answer to this, but I'll
try asking anyway.  My wife wants to be able to play audio books in
mp3 format on her pocket pc.  It has Windows Media player for the
pocket pc which does play the books, but she has not found a way to
bookmark her spot in the book when she has to stop listening.  Does
anyone know if there is a way to bookmark your spot in the pocket pc
media player?  Alternatively, is anyone aware of any other players
which can be installed on a pocket pc running Pocket Windows 2003?

Any information or resources you can provide would be greatly
appreciated.
