I use skype, and I have just instaled overtyop of the one that is already there, and have had no problems.

Hey Folks,

I have a previous version of Skype. It was the version that came out last
week. 1.0.0.94. Of course, version 97 is now out.

I want to know if anyone knows if doing a clean install of new versions of
Skype is necessary or if Skype users generally install their new versions
directly over the top of the old ones?

I am not a fan of the latter method, however, I see no way to save my
contact lists. If anyone can tell me how to do a fresh install of Skype, and
at the same time, save my contact list, I would truly be appreciative...
