Gary when you choose shift you should be presented with a fairly large dialogue. Load an audio file and try this sequence of key strokes.
! alt-c, to bring up the Effects menu ! p, to bring up the Pitch menu ! s, to bring up the pitch shift dialogue ! shft-tab, eight times to get to the "pitch shift by semitone control" ! alt-p, to start the file playing in Preview Mode
Now use your up and down arrow keys to hear the pitch of the file raise
and lower.
When you've got it where you want it press enter.
