Hi Jim, I bought my first Gateway three years back with Windows ME & loved it. It came with a 3year warranty but when that expired I purchased a new Gateway. This has 512 of Ram, 80 gigabyte harddrive, & a DVD combo burner, along with XP. I liked the WindowsME better than XP. I think its the XP that makes the last Gateway with ME seem better. It is nice to burn DVD's as well as cd's. This new Gateway was loaded with so many checking features that it actually made the pc slower than the previous one, even though the processing speed is greater on the new one. Perhaps another model would run better, I have the 510S, sold for $1150. Harry Bassler
