Hi Mary,
I bought mine last year, its a Dell. The model is 4550, she put out pretty good, I just keep up with the disk clean-up and the defragmenting and she does great, I leave it on on the time except for one day during the week like Sunday or Monday I shut her down to give her a break. Dave

Well I have a truly ancient desktop and on the back of it are 3 jacks. One for the speakers one for line in and one for line out. I like the laptop because everything useful is pretty much at your fingertips.

I probably need to look at the back of my tower to see what jacks are available. It should'nt be hard to transfer a tape to a computer justa patch cord. I have done things on my computer without really trying.with
