Hi, It's my understanding, that a mixer, is a pre-amp, or has one in it. I use one all the time to record vinyl records to my computer, I'm suggesting that the problem, is not going from the mixer, to the computer with a patch cord. Possibly it might be, volumes, the line-in wasn't turned on, or something of this nature. hope this is of some help
