Hi Reta:
Thanks all over the place for going through the trouble of acquiring that information for me.
I think they were supposed to have resolved that problem by adding the Synth1Port= argument.
Again Retta, thanks all over the place.

Hi, Jim, Have you checked Fs's Bulletin on this matter which can be found at:
http://www.hj.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?xQC=306x
" Bulletin Type: TSN Number: 13149
Date Posted: 09/25/2002
Product Name: JAWS for Windows
Version: 4.5
Category: Sound Cards
Short Description:
On computers with multiple sound cards, if Automatically Start JAWS is set, JAWS uses the first installed sound card.
Problem:
If two separate sound cards are installed on the same computer, and if JAWS 4.02 or 4.50 is set to start automatically, JAWS uses the card that was INSTALLED
first. This occurs even if you set the second sound card as the default device.
For example, if you first installed a SB Audigy, then installed the SoundBlaster PCI as a second sound card. You set the SoundBlaster as your Default Device
within Control Panel. when JAWS is started automatically, it still uses the first card, the Audigy.
Solution:
If you exit and then restart JAWS 4.x, it then uses the Default soundcard as set in Control Panel.
A longer term solution would be to remove both sound cards and install the preferred card first, then the second card, then reinstall JAWS."
Kindest Regards:
Reta

Hi Folks:
I am using a Delta 66 soundcard as well as the computer's onboard sound chip. When I boot the computer with JAWS set to load automatically at startup, JFW always loads up on the Delta 66 soundcard even though the onboard chip is set as the default soundcard. I have tried adding the Synth1 Port options in the JFW.ini file but had no success. As it stands, I have to unload and reload JAWS in order to load up on the internal sound chip.
Is there some way to configure windows so that JAWS will allways load up on the default card?
Thanks all over the place gang. _______________________________________________ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org
