Actually, you want to convert the files to .wav format.  When you burn
the audio CD, .wav files are put on the CD in CDDA format.

In fact, some CD bburning software will burn an audio CD directly from
the mp3 files, so you might look at your burning software to see if
it's cable of this.  If not, you can always convert mp3 files with
winamp using the wave output plugin.  That's a free plugin for winamp.
