Hi, Don, what about this, try using a program like total recorder,
maybe gold wave or sound forge will enable this also, but try using the
audio stocker plugin, and configuring all the settings but equalization
on maximum, and see if that works.  I have noticed that it does
precisely what you want, when I would record certain files, in other
words, the soft passages are brought up, but it may not exactly work
like a limiter, in fact, I wonder if the thomas limiter would do a
better job at this than the audio stocker plugin?  If this isn't what
you were looking for, I appologize, but this is the only thing I can
immediately think of.
