Hi Susan

having the mic check box checked in the playback stops you hearing what
you are saying into the mic back through your speakers.

Subject: Re: confused about mic settings and volume control

Ramy,
Thank you for helping me with this. What confused me was that somehow I
had missed that list of controls under the playback properties, but I
did as you said and now see the microphone control right where you said
it would be. I assume that the recording setting for the mic is what is
important since it turned out that I had the playback setting muted and
it obviously still worked. Also, now that I'vefigured out the check
boxes and made sure JAWS is actually reading them, it looks like my
settings will stick.

Thanks for your offer to check on MSN. I do have it installed but I
have never gotten around tosetting up a username or learning it. I do
use Audio-Tips and 4-the-people, though, so can check in there later
today. Again thanks for your help, I knew it would be fairly simple,
just not to me, smile. Take care.

Susan
