can you play mp4 cds in a standard stereo? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Clower" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. " <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 4:17 PM Subject: Re: ogg to mp3 converter
To play ogg files in a standard stereo, you will have to burn normal audio CD's. Many people like mp4, but that format has more licensing issues than did mp3. Converting a file from one compressed format to another will *not* make it sound any better; in fact, you're liable to make it sound much worse. If you find an audio compression scheme you likem convert your files into that format at the outset. A 128KB mp3 file won't sound any better if it's converted to a 128KB ogg file, but the same track originally compressed to a 128KB ogg file will certainly sound better than its 128KB mp3 counterpart. *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 7/13/2004 at 12:26 PM Sunshine wrote: >steven what else could i do that would allow me to play them in a standard >stereo? >is mp4 supported on home units yet and is this a better format then ogg? >or what could i convert the ogg files into to get better quality? >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Stephen Clower" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "PC audio discussion list.
